Sophronia (Sophie) Brooks grew up and is currently residing in the Madison area. She was enrolled in dance classes at the age of 3. Her passion for dance grew in high school as she trained at the Madison Professional Dance Center. Here, she joined her studio’s competition team for two seasons. In May of 2023, she graduated from the University of Wisconsin- Stevens Point with a B.A. in Dance and a Pilates Certification. During college, she trained under the direction of Micheal Estanich, Sarah Olson, Jeannie Hill, Pamela Luedtke, Amy Beversdorf, and Joan Karlen. During this time she had the opportunity to choreograph and perform in various dance performances.

In the summer of 2023, she participated in COMMON’s Creative & Performing summer session while working with Terence Marling and Braeden Barens. She is currently training in Graham modern technique at Kanopy Dance with Lisa Thurrell and Robert E. Cleary.
